Converter

Overview of an Initial Installation

1. Installation varies depending on whether the Fibre Channel converter is

installed in an enclosure, rack, or table top:

To install Fibre Channel converters in a 729x enclosure, refer to Section
2, Installing a 729x enclosure. If the enclosures do not arrive prestacked,
contact your service provider. The converters are already preinstalled
inside but might need to be removed for stacking.

To install Fibre Channel converters in a customer-supplied rack:

To install Fibre Channel converters on a table top, proceed to step 2.

2. Connect all the cables on the Fibre Channel converter. Refer to Section 3,

for cable part numbers.

3. Connect the Fibre Channel converter to the NonStop S-series server.

4. Use SCF to configure the Fibre Channel converter and attached storage

devices for the NonStop S-series server.
