Select Yes, perform a test and click Next. The test may fail if the default user and

password are not set. Click the Change Login button and enter cliuser and password and

click ok. The test should succeed. Click Next.

Enter a net service name. This is the name you will need to enter when installing the System

Reporter tools. Click Next.

Follow instructions to complete the net service configuration and exit the program.

3.9 Installing or Upgrading the System Reporter Tools

You have three options for installing the 3PAR System Reporter tools, depending on whether

you choose to use the SQLite database (the default), the optional MySQL database or the

optional Oracle database.

If you are using MySQL or Oracle for your database, before installing the 3PAR System Reporter

tools you must install and configure MySQL or Oracle as described in

3.8.2 Installing and

Setting Up the MySQL Database (Optional)

on page 3.16 or

3.8.3 Setting Up the Oracle

Database (Optional)

on page 3.21 respectively.

There are different procedures for installing or upgrading System Reporter tools on Windows

and Linux. For Windows, refer to section

3.9.0.1 Installing or Upgrading System Reporter Tools

on Windows

on page 3.24 and for Linux refer to section

3.9.0.1 Installing or Upgrading System Reporter Tools on Windows

Install the 3PAR System Reporter tools on Windows as follows:

Insert the 3PAR System Reporter CD into your CD ROM drive and open the file

installer.exe

.

The 3PAR System Reporter Installer window opens.

If the installer detects a previous System Reporter installation, it will initialize the settings

for the installation to the existing settings instead of the default settings and include an

Upgrade button.

NOTE: Before installing the System Reporter tools, make sure that you have

installed Apache HTTP Server as described in

3.7 Installing the Web Server

on

page 3.13.
