Installation of a Bell Adaptor & Wheel

For Part Number’s 2209300020, 2209300030, 2209300040, 2209300051

Instruction #: 8000010004

REV 03/14

Due to the design of the steering wheels, you will

first want to check the line of sight through the

wheel. We recommend a “Y” for the three spoke

and an “X” for the four spoke. This should assist

you in seeing your gauges.

1. Align the wheel to the adaptor using the half-inch

hole as a reference. This hole will need to be some
where between 10 o‘clock and 12 o’clock when
the wheel is straight. Most 3-bolt wheels will use
hole (A.). If it is a newer Grant wheel, you may
need to use hole (B.) Use 1/4”-28 bolts to secure
the wheel to the adaptor.

(See Figure 2)

2. Flip the wheel over and drill a half-inch hole

through the wheel using the adaptor as a guide.
(See Figure 3)

3. Disassemble the wheel and remove any/all burrs or

sharp edges from the wheel.

Now we are ready to install this assembly on a

steering column.

1. Check to verify that the driving wheels are

straight. On top of the steering column there is a
tube sticking up. This tube should be rotated to the
10 - 12 o’clock position when the driving wheels
are straight. Set the adaptor onto the shaft of the
column, this may require you to rotate the shaft a
little to the closest tooth on the spline of the column
until the adaptor sets into position.

(See Figure 4)

2. Set the steering wheel on the front of the adaptor

and onto the shaft. Rotate the wheel so that it
matches the hole you drilled and install the three
bolts loosely. Install the nut (9/16-18 Jam nut) on
the center shaft. Torque to 35 ft. lbs.
