Installation of a Bell/Grant Wheel with Horn Kit

For Part Number’s 2209310020, 2209310030, 2209310040, 2209310051, 2611000010, 2612400010

Instruction #: 8000010005

REV 03/14

Due to the design of the steering wheels, you will first

want to check the line of sight through the wheel. We

recommend a “Y” for the three spoke and an “X” for

the four spoke. This should assist you in seeing your

gauges.

1. Align the wheel to the adaptor using the half-inch

hole as a reference. This hole will need to be some
where between 10 o‘clock and 12 o’clock when the
wheel is straight. Most 3-bolt wheels will use hole
(A.). If it is a newer Grant wheel, you may need to use
hole (B.) Use the 3 bolts provided to secure the wheel
to the adaptor.

(See Figure 2)

2. Flip the wheel over and drill a half-inch hole through

the wheel using the adaptor as a guide.

(See Figure 3)

3. Disassemble the wheel and remove any/all burrs or

sharp edges from the wheel.

We are now ready to install this assembly on a

steering column.

1. Check to verify the driving wheels are straight. On

the top of the column there is a tube sticking out of
the column. This tube should be in the 10 - 12 o’clock
position when the wheels are straight. Set the adaptor
on the shaft of the column, this may require you to
rotate the shaft a little to the closest tooth on the spline
of the column until the adaptor sets into position.

(See

Figure 4)

2. Set the steering wheel on the front of the adaptor over

the shaft. Rotate the wheel so that it matches the hole
you drilled and install the three bolts loosely. Install
the nut (9/16-18 Jam nut) on the center shaft. Torque
to 35 ft. lbs.

(See Figure 5)

3. Remove the three bolts and with the horn contact

plate in hand, install the horn wire. To do this, push in
and turn clockwise. Then set the plate on the adaptor
with the metal side-facing the adaptor and re-install
the three bolts.

(See Figure 6)

4. Put the provided spring on top of the shaft (big side

down) and push cap on.

(See Figure 7)

Now reconnect horn and verify function.
