System does

message

• Make sure answering system is on (page 37).

System does
not answer
after correct
n u m b e r o f
rings

• Make sure that the answering system is on (page 37).
• If toll saver is activated, the number of rings changes to two

when there are new messages waiting (page 40).

• In some cases, the system may be affected by the ringing

system used by the local telephone company.

• If the memory is full or the answering system is off, the sys-

tem will answer after 0 rings.

Common cure
for electronic
equipment

• If the telephone does not seem to be responding normally,

try putting the cordless handset in its charger. If it does not

seem to respond, do the following (in the order listed):

• Disconnect the power to the telephone base.
• Disconnect the cordless handset battery, and spare battery,

if applicable.

• Wait a few minutes.
• Connect power to the telephone base and charger.
• Re-install the telephone base and charger and place the

cordless handset into the charger.

• Wait for the cordless handset to re-establish its connection

with the base. Allow up to one minute for this to take place.

System does
not respond
to remote
commands

• Make sure to enter your remote access code correctly

(pages 45).

• Make sure you are calling from a touch-tone telephone.

When dialing a number, you should hear tones. If you hear

clicks, it is not a touch-tone telephone and cannot activate

the answering system.

• The answering system may not detect the remote access

code while your announcement is playing. Try waiting until

the announcement is over before entering the code.

• There may be noise or interference on the telephone line

you are using. Press dial pad buttons firmly.

Announcement
message is not
clear

• When you record your announcement, make sure you speak

in a normal tone of voice, about nine inches from the tel-

ephone base.

• Make sure there is no background noise (TV, music, etc.)

while recording.
