Appendix B. Tube Installation
As the probe enters the prepared hole in the soil, it shaves off a residue that is
eventually stored in the cutting tip at the base of the hole.
Remove the lid of the top cap and extract the electronics. Place this safely to
one side on a clean, dry surface such as a tarpaulin.
