Changing the Image Quality and Image Size

The image quality (compression ratio) and image size can be selected for
recording.

Image Quality

With a higher image quality setting, a higher detail of image expression is retained,
but the number of images that can be saved (

A73) is reduced because the file size

also becomes larger.

1

RAW (NRW) images cannot be selected in scene mode.

2

No images can be stored in the internal memory because the file size is too large.

C

COOLPIX P330 RAW (NRW) Images

The file extension of the images taken is “.NRW.”

RAW (NRW) images cannot be printed. Creating JPEG images with RAW (NRW) processing (

A85)

enables the images to be printed using PictBridge compatible printers or in digital photo labs.

No editing other than RAW (NRW) processing can be performed for images in the RAW (NRW)

format. To edit such images, first create JPEG images using RAW (NRW) processing, and then
edit the JPEG images.

ViewNX 2 needs to be installed on the computer to be able to view RAW (NRW) images on the

computer. Capture NX 2 is also compatible with RAW (NRW) images.

Install ViewNX 2 on a computer using the included ViewNX 2 CD-ROM (see “Using ViewNX 2”

(

A88)).

For more information on using ViewNX 2, refer to the on-screen instructions and help information
contained in ViewNX 2.
