Cleaning after using this unit under/near water
Always clean this unit with water within 60 minutes of use, and do not open the ˎ ˎ
Multi terminal cover before cleaning is finished. Sand or water may get inside where
it cannot be seen, and will degrade water-proof performance if not rinsed out.
Allow this unit to sit in pure water poured into a cleaning bowl for about 5 minutes. ˎ ˎ
Then, gently shake this unit and press each button under the water to clean away any
salt, sand or other matter lodged around the buttons (See illustration ).
After rinsing, wipe away any drops of water with a soft cloth. Allow this unit to dry ˎ ˎ
completely in a shady location with good ventilation. Do not blow dry with a hair
dryer as there is a risk of deformation and/or degraded water-proof performance.
Wipe away any drops of water or dust from the Multi terminal cover with a soft dry ˎ ˎ
cloth.
Bubbles may appear when this unit is placed underwater. This is not a malfunction. ˎ ˎ
The unit body may become discolored if it comes into contact with sunscreen or ˎ ˎ
suntan oil. If this unit does come into contact with sunscreen or suntan oil, quickly
wipe it clean.
Do not allow this unit to sit with salt water inside it or on its surface. This may lead ˎ ˎ
to corrosion or discoloration, and degradation of the water-proof performance.
Disposal
Remove the battery pack before disposing of this unit. ˎ ˎ
Remove the battery pack (See illustration )
The built-in battery pack is recyclable.
When disposing of this unit, remove the built-in battery pack and take it to your
dealer.
Notes
When removing the battery pack, be careful of the following.
Remove the screws, etc. away from small children to prevent accidental ˎ ˎ
swallowing.
Be careful not to injure your nails or fingers. ˎ ˎ
Important information
Do not remove the screws except when disposing of this unit. We will refuse repairs
or replacement if we judge there to have been unwarranted disassembly.
1 Press the ON/OFF (Power) button to turn off the power of this unit.
2 Disconnect the connected cables.
3 Remove the screws with a Phillips-head screwdriver. (4 screws)
4 Detach the cover.
5 Push the hook outwards and remove the battery pack.
Battery pack
On charging this unit
Charge this unit before using for the first time. ˎ ˎ
We recommend charging this unit in an ambient temperature of between 10 °C to ˎ ˎ
30 °C (50 °F to 86 °F) until the CHG (Charge) lamp turns off. This unit may not be
effectively charged in temperatures outside this range.
The CHG (Charge) lamp may light up in the following situations: ˎ ˎ
Battery pack is damaged ˋ
If the temperature of this unit is low, put it in a warm place. ˎ ˎ
If the temperature of this unit is high, put it in a cool place. ˎ ˎ

Notes
These are the approximate operating times when using this unit with a fully charged ˎ ˎ
battery pack, with the Panel Brightness set to HI and at an ambient temperature
of 25 °C (77 °F).
Checking the remaining battery charge
A remaining charge indicator appears on the LCD screen of this unit.

Notes
It takes about 30 seconds until the correct remaining charge indicator appears. ˎ ˎ
The displayed remaining charge indicator may not be correct under certain ˎ ˎ
circumstances.
Effective use of the battery pack
Battery pack performance decreases at a low ambient temperature. In cold places, ˎ ˎ
therefore, the operational time of the battery pack is shorter.
Remaining battery charge
If the battery pack runs out quickly even though the remaining charge indicator ˎ ˎ
is high, fully charge this unit again. The remaining charge indicator will then be
displayed correctly. Note that it may not be displayed correctly in the following
situations:
This unit is used for a long time at high ambient temperature ˋ
This unit is left fully charged ˋ
This unit is used heavily ˋ
On the overheat protection
Depending on this unit and battery temperature, the power of this unit may turn off ˎ ˎ
automatically to protect this unit. A message will be displayed on the LCD screen
before the power turns off.
How to store the battery pack
Fully discharge this unit before storing, and store it in a cool, dry place. To maintain ˎ ˎ
this unit’s function, fully charge this unit and then fully discharge it at least once a
year while storing.
Battery pack life
The battery pack has a limited life. Battery capacity decreases over time and through ˎ ˎ
repeated use. If there is a significant decrease in usage time between charges, it is
probably time to replace it. Take it to your Sony dealer.
The battery pack life varies according to how the battery pack is used. ˎ ˎ

Preparation
 Charging this unit
1 Check that the power of this unit set to OFF.
2 Connect the micro USB cable (supplied) to the Multi/Micro USB
terminal of this unit.
3 Connect the other end of the micro USB cable to your computer or AC-
UD20 (sold separately).
The CHG (Charge) lamp lights up orange and charging begins.
The CHG (Charge) lamp goes out when charging is completed.
Notes
You can charge this unit even if it is not completely discharged. Also, even if this unit ˎ ˎ
is not fully charged, you can use the partial charge capacity of the battery pack as is.
When the power of this unit is on, it is supplied with power but not charged. ˎ ˎ
 Attaching a belt to this unit
Put this unit on the base plate and thread the belt through the belt loop of
this unit and the base plate, as illustrated in -1. Attach the belt to this
unit and the base plate as illustrated in -1.
When attaching the belt, you can adjust the length of the belt depending on the
position to attach ,  in the illustration -1.
To attach to your arm, place the belt loop of this unit on the wrist side and thread the
belt through  as illustrated in -2. Thread the excess part  of the belt through
.
Attaching the belt incorrectly may cause injury.
When using this unit attached to your arm, always attach the supplied base plate and
belt correctly.
Notes
Be careful not to drop this unit when detaching the belt from it.
Using This Unit
 Before turning on the power of this unit
Be sure that the Multi terminal cover of this unit is closed.
Securely close the Multi terminal cover until you hear the slide lock on the
Multi terminal cover click into place and the yellow mark under the slide lock
can no longer be seen.
If any foreign matter such as sand gets inside the Multi terminal cover, the sealing ˎ ˎ
gasket may be scratched, leading to water entering this unit.
 Turning on the power of this unit
Press the ON/OFF (Power) button with this unit charged.
When you turn this unit on for the first time, the date and time setting screen is ˎ ˎ
displayed.
See “ Clock Setting” in “ Changing the settings.”
Press the ON/OFF (Power) button again to turn off the power of this unit.
 Connecting this unit and a camera by Wi-Fi
( : SINGLE connection)
1 Turn on the power of this unit and the camera.
2 The Wi-Fi device selection screen is displayed on the LCD screen of this
unit. Select the SSID of the camera you want to connect with the UP
button or DOWN button and press the REC/ENTER button to confirm.
For details on the SSID of your camera, refer to the operating instructions supplied
with the camera.
Notes
The SSID of the camera is displayed on this unit with “Direct-” removed.
3 If [ACPT?] appears on the screen of the camera you want to connect,
press the ENTER button of the camera to permit direct connection.
(Action Cam only)
The display on the LCD screen of this unit switches to the Live-View display and
the REC/Wi-Fi lamp of this unit lights up blue.
Notes
Depending on your camera, the displayed indicator and the button to press to
permit direct connection differ. For details, refer to the startup guide and operating
instructions supplied with your camera.
This unit is now connected to your camera through Wi-Fi.
During connection of this unit and a camera by Wi-Fi, the REC/Wi-Fi lamp
lights up blue.
You do not need to do steps 2 and 3 when connecting to the same camera from the
next time. This unit connects automatically to your camera.
When this unit is connected to a Sony Digital Still Camera QX series model or other
compatible camera, the exposure mode of the camera is automatically set to “
Intelligent Auto”.
When this unit is connected to a Sony Digital Still Camera QX series model, the date
setting of this unit also appears in the camera.
Notes
When the power of this unit is turned on or Airplane Mode is canceled, this unit
connects automatically to the camera.
If connection is cut due to the environment or Disconnect is selected from
the menu, this unit does not connect automatically to the camera. To connect it,
operate steps 2 and 3 in “ Connecting this unit and a camera by Wi-Fi.”
 Changing the settings
You can change this unit’s settings by pressing the MENU button of this unit.
You can also change the camera’s settings by pressing the MENU button of this unit
while it is connected to a camera by Wi-Fi.
1 Press the MENU button.
The setting items appear on the LCD screen of this unit.
2 Press the UP button or DOWN button to select the desired item, then
press the REC/ENTER button.
3 Press the UP button or DOWN button to select the desired setting,
then press the REC/ENTER button to confirm.

Notes
Depending on your camera, some setting items and settings may not be compatible. ˎ ˎ
When this unit is not connected to the camera by Wi-Fi, you cannot change the ˎ ˎ
camera settings.
Select ˎ ˎ to return from the setting selection select screen to the setting item
selection screen.
Select ˎ ˎ to activate the selected setting item or setting in the selection screen.
 Shooting
Movie recording/Interval photo recording
1 Press the REC/ENTER button to start recording.
The blue REC/Wi-Fi lamp changes from blue to red.
2 Press the REC/ENTER button again to stop recording.
The red REC/Wi-Fi lamp changes from red to blue.
Photo shooting
Press the REC/ENTER button.
Clock display
Press the DISP button of this unit to show the clock display on the LCD screen when
the Live-View display is on the LCD screen of this unit or during movie recording.
Press the DISP button again to turn the LCD screen to OFF mode. In OFF mode, press
the DISP button again to return the LCD screen to Live-View display.
Changing the screen display by the DISP button
When this unit is connected to a camera, you can change the screen display of this
unit’s LCD screen in the following sequence: Live-View display  Icon off  Clock
display  Screen off
When this unit’s LCD screen is set to “Screen off,” returns to “Live-View display” by
pressing the DISP button of this unit again.
Button hold function
When this unit is connected to a camera, set this unit to button hold status by
pressing the MENU button of this unit for 2 seconds or more. This prevents you from
accidentally pressing this unit’s buttons while carrying it around.
To cancel button hold mode, press the MENU button of this unit for 2 seconds or
more, or press the ON/OFF (Power) button to turn off the power of this unit.
Zooming
When the Live-View display is on the LCD screen of this unit or during movie
recording, you can operate the camera zoom by pressing the UP/DOWN button of this
unit.
The zoom function is only available with compatible cameras. For more details, refer
to the Instruction Manual of the camera and compatibility information.
Multi camera control
When using the HDR-AS100V, you can operate up to 5 cameras at the same time with
this unit.
For more details, refer to the Handbook installed in this unit.
Troubleshooting
Cannot turn on this unit. ÿ
Charge the battery pack. 
The power of this unit turns off suddenly. ÿ
If you do not operate this unit for a certain period of time while the power is 
on, it turns off automatically to conserve the battery pack. Turn this unit on
again.
If the  Auto Power Off setting is set to [ OFF], the power does not turn
off automatically.
Cannot charge this unit. ÿ
Turn off this unit and connect it by USB. 
Disconnect and then reconnect the micro USB cable (supplied). 
Use the micro USB cable (supplied). 














Charge this unit in an ambient temperature range of 10 °C to 30 °C (50 °F to 
86 °F).
Turn on the power of the computer and then connect this unit. 
Release the computer from sleep or hibernation status. 
Connect this unit directly to the computer using the micro USB cable 
(supplied).
The remaining charge indicator is incorrect. ÿ
This phenomenon occurs when you use this unit in an extremely hot or cold 
location.
There is a discrepancy between the remaining charge indicator and the actual 
remaining battery charge. Fully discharge this unit once, and then recharge it to
correct the indication.
Fully charge this unit again. If the problem persists, the battery pack is worn 
out. Consult your Sony dealer or local authorized Sony service facility.
This unit cannot connect to the camera by Wi-Fi. ÿ
Visit the Sony website to check that the camera is compatible with this unit. 
If the problem persists, press the RESET button of this unit.

Self-diagnosis
If an indication beginning with an alphabetical character appears on the LCD screen
of this unit, the self-diagnosis function is working.
This unit may require repairs. Contact your Sony dealer and tell them all the numbers
beginning with E or C.

Traitement de l’écran LCD

Si cet appareil est utilisé dans un lieu froid, des lignes horizontales ou une image ˎ ˎ
résiduelle peuvent apparaître sur l’écran LCD. Il ne s’agit pas d’une défectuosité.
Lorsque l’appareil devient chaud, l’écran LCD redevient normal.
Si une photo ou une image fixe, par exemple une image divisée ou le code temporel ˎ ˎ
est affiché pendant un certain temps, une image peut rester superposée sur l’écran
LCD comme une image fantôme.
L’écran LCD de cet appareil est le produit d’une très haute technologie de précision, ˎ ˎ
mais une très faible proportion de pixels risquent de se « bloquer » et seront soit
toujours éteints (noirs) soit toujours éclairés (rouges, verts ou bleus), ou bien
clignoteront. De plus, compte tenu des caractéristiques physiques de l’affichage à
cristaux liquides, des pixels « bloqués » peuvent apparaître spontanément après
une très longue période d’utilisation. Ces phénomènes ne proviennent pas d’une

Comme un mauvais entretien peut réduire les performances de l’écran LCD, veuillez
respecter les consignes suivantes :
Essuyez l’écran LCD doucement avec un chiffon doux, par exemple un tissu de ˎ ˎ
nettoyage ou un tissu spécial pour lunettes.
Les tâches persistantes peuvent être enlevées avec un chiffon doux, comme un tissu ˎ ˎ
de nettoyage ou un tissu spécial pour lunettes légèrement mouillé d’eau.
N’utilisez jamais de solvant, comme l’alcool, le benzène ou le diluant, ni de ˎ ˎ
détergent acide, alcalin ou abrasif ou de tissu de nettoyage chimique qui risquent
d’endommager la surface de l’écran LCD.
Nettoyage de la surface de cet appareil
Nettoyez la surface de cet appareil avec un chiffon doux légèrement imprégné d’eau, ˎ ˎ
puis essuyez la surface avec un chiffon sec.

ou sableuse, ni près de l’eau. Du sable ou de l’eau pourrait pénétrer à l’intérieur.
Avant d’ouvrir le couvercle de la multiprise, effectuez les opérations mentionnées
dans « Nettoyage après avoir utilisé cet appareil sous l’eau ou à proximité de l’eau ».
Ouvrez le couvercle de la multiprise quand cet appareil est entièrement sec. ˎ ˎ
Vérifiez toujours si le couvercle de la multiprise est bien fermé. ˎ ˎ

Nettoyage après avoir utilisé cet appareil sous l’eau ou à
proximité de l’eau
Nettoyez toujours cet appareil à l’eau dans les 60 minutes qui suivent son utilisation ˎ ˎ
et n’ouvrez pas le couvercle de la multiprise tant que l’appareil n’a pas été entièrement
nettoyé. Du sable ou de l’eau peut pénétrer à l’intérieur de l’appareil de façon
imperceptible, réduisant son étanchéité.
Laissez cet appareil dans une cuvette remplie d’eau claire pendant environ 5 minutes. ˎ ˎ
Ensuite, secouez doucement cet appareil et appuyez sur chaque bouton sous l’eau
pour enlever le sel, le sable ou toute autre matière pris autour des boutons (Voir
l’illustration ).
Après l’avoir rincé, essuyez la moindre goutte d’eau avec un chiffon doux. Laissez cet ˎ ˎ
appareil complètement sécher à l’ombre mais à un endroit bien ventilé. Ne le séchez
pas avec un sèche-cheveux car la chaleur risque de déformer le coffret et/ou de
dégrader sa performance d’étanchéité.
Essuyez la moindre goutte d’eau ou la moindre poussière du couvercle de la ˎ ˎ
multiprise avec un chiffon sec et doux.
Des bulles peuvent apparaître lorsque cet appareil est mis sous l’eau. Il ne s’agit pas ˎ ˎ
d’une défectuosité.
Le coffret de cet appareil peut se décolorer si de l’écran solaire ou de l’huile solaire ˎ ˎ
tombe dessus. Si de l’écran solaire ou de l’huile solaire devait tomber sur cet appareil,
nettoyez-le rapidement.
Ne laissez pas d’eau salée à l’intérieur ou sur cet appareil. Le sel peut provoquer de la ˎ ˎ
corrosion ou de la décoloration, et réduire la performance d’étanchéité.
Mise au rebut
Retirez la batterie avant de mettre cet appareil au rebut. ˎ ˎ

Features
This Live-View Remote RM-LVR1 (referred to below as “this unit”) can be used to ˎ ˎ
operate a Sony camera that has a Wi-Fi function. This unit may not be compatible
with all cameras that have a Wi-Fi function. Please visit the Sony website to find

This unit has basic recording functions (movie recording, photo shooting and ˎ ˎ

This unit has water-proof specifications enabling use in the rain, snow, or at the ˎ ˎ

Notes on Use
Do not use/store this unit in the following places
In an extremely hot place ˎ ˎ
In places such as in a car parked in the sun, the unit body may become deformed
and this may cause a malfunction.
In direct sunlight or near a heater ˎ ˎ
If you store this unit in direct sunlight or near a heater, this unit may become
discolored or deformed, and this may cause a malfunction.
In a location subject to strong vibration ˎ ˎ
Near strong magnetic fields ˎ ˎ
Operating temperature
This unit is designed for use in temperatures between -10 °C and +40 °C (14 °F and
104 °F). Using in extremely cold or hot places outside this range is not recommended.
The LCD screen and the cabinet become warm during operation. This is not a ˎ ˎ
malfunction.
Moisture condensation
If this unit is brought directly from a cold to a warm location, moisture may condense
inside it. This condensation may cause a malfunction of this unit.
If condensation occurs
Turn off this unit and wait about 1 hour for the moisture to evaporate.
Notes on moisture condensation
Moisture may condense when you move this unit from a cold place to a warm place
(or vice versa) or when you use this unit in a humid place, as shown below.
When you bring this unit from a ski slope into a warm place ˋ
When you bring this unit from an air-conditioned car or room to a hot place outside ˋ
When you use this unit after a squall or rain shower ˋ

Wi-Fi function
Use this unit in accordance with the regulations of the area of use. ˎ ˎ
You cannot use the Wi-Fi function of this unit underwater. ˎ ˎ
Disabling all Wi-Fi related functions
When you board an airplane, etc., you can temporarily disable all functions related to
Wi-Fi.
When [Airplane Mode] is set to [On], ˎ ˎ is displayed on the LCD screen.
For details on settings, see “ ˎ ˎ  Changing the settings” in “Using This Unit.”
Handling the LCD screen
Do not leave the LCD screen facing the sun as it may be damaged. Be careful when ˎ ˎ
placing the unit by a window.
If the unit is used in a cold place, horizontal lines or a residual image may appear on ˎ ˎ
the LCD screen. This is not a malfunction. The LCD screen returns to normal when
the unit warms up.
If a still picture or a fixed picture such as a frame of a divided picture or time code is ˎ ˎ
displayed for a long time, an image may remain superimposed on the LCD screen as
a ghosting image.
The LCD panel fitted to this unit is manufactured with high precision technology, ˎ ˎ
but a very small proportion of pixels may be “stuck”, either always off (black),
always on (red, green, or blue), or flashing. In addition, because of the physical
characteristics of the liquid crystal display, such “stuck” pixels may appear
spontaneously over a long period of use. These problems are not a malfunction.
Cleaning
Cleaning the LCD screen
The LCD screen surface is specially treated to reduce the reflection of light.
Incorrect maintenance may impair the performance of the LCD screen, so take care
with respect to the following:
Wipe the LCD screen gently with a soft cloth such as a cleaning cloth or glasses ˎ ˎ
cloth.
Stubborn stains may be removed with a soft cloth such as a cleaning cloth or glasses ˎ ˎ
cloth slightly dampened with water.
Never use a solvent such as alcohol, benzene or thinner, or acid, alkaline or abrasive ˎ ˎ
detergent, or chemical cleaning cloth, as they will damage the LCD screen surface.
Cleaning the surface of this unit
Clean this unit surface with a soft cloth slightly moistened with water, then wipe the ˎ ˎ
surface with a dry cloth.
Do not use any of the following as they may damage the finish or the casing.
Chemical products such as thinner, benzine, alcohol, disposable cloths, insect ˋ
repellent, sunscreen or insecticide, etc.
Do not touch this unit with any of the above on your hand. ˋ
Do not leave this unit in contact with rubber or vinyl for a long time. ˋ
About the water-proof performance of this unit
This unit is designed to be water-proof. Damage caused by misuse, abuse, or
improper maintenance is not covered by the limited warranty.
Do not subject this unit to pressurized water, such as from a tap. ˎ ˎ
Do not use in hot springs. ˎ ˎ
Use this unit in the recommended operating water temperature range of 0 °C to ˎ ˎ
40 °C (32 °F to 104 °F).
Notes before using this unit under/near water
Make sure that no foreign matter such as sand, hair, or dirt gets inside the Multi ˎ ˎ
terminal cover. Even a small amount of foreign matter may lead to water entering
this unit.
Confirm that the sealing gasket ˎ ˎ  and its mating surfaces  have not become
scratched (See illustration ). Even a small scratch may lead to water entering this
unit. If the sealing gasket or its mating surfaces become scratched, consult your Sony
dealer or local authorized Sony service facility.
If dirt or sand gets on the sealing gasket or its mating surfaces, wipe the area clean ˎ ˎ
with a soft cloth that does not leave behind any fibers.
Do not open/close the Multi terminal cover with wet or sandy hands or near water. ˎ ˎ
There is a risk of sand or water getting inside. Before opening the Multi terminal
cover, perform the procedure described in “Cleaning after using this unit under/
near water.”
Open the Multi terminal card cover when this unit is completely dry. ˎ ˎ
Always check that the Multi terminal cover is securely locked. ˎ ˎ
Notes on using this unit under/near water
Do not subject this unit to shock such as by jumping into water. ˎ ˎ
Do not open and close the Multi terminal cover while under/near water. ˎ ˎ
This unit sinks in water. Use the belt supplied with this unit to prevent it from ˎ ˎ
sinking.




