• The following setting can be stored when “Disc
Memory” is set to “On”:
– Bookmark
– “Custom1” and “Custom2” settings of “Sound
EQ.”
• Settings for up to 30 discs can be stored in the
“Disc Mode.” Any settings stored afterwards will
replace the settings with the lowest frequency
of use among the 30. The numbers of discs that
can be stored depend on the numbers of tracks
recorded on the discs. More tracks recorded per
disc means fewer discs can be stored.
• When the “Quick Mode” is set to “On,” the power
remains on within the player even when nothing
appears in the display. When the rechargeable
battery becomes completely drained, the internal
power supply of the player turns off automatically.
• Even if you select “MD” as the “Disc Mode”
setting, the operation mode can only be “Hi-MD”
when using a 1GB Hi-MD disc.

AVLS
(Limiting
volume) Off  The volume changes without limiting the volume level.
On The maximum volume is limited to protect your hearing.
Beep (Sound
of operation) Off The beep is turned off.
On  The beep sounds when you operate the player.
Disc Memory Off The player does not store the setting for a disc.
On  The player automatically stores the settings for a disc and retrieves
them whenever the disc is inserted.
1Memory
Erase The disc information of current disc is erased.
Quick Mode Off If you do not operate the player for a while, the player turns off
automatically to prevent wearing down the battery.
On  The player does not turn off automatically. Playback starts quickly
after the playback button is pressed.
Disc Mode
Hi-MD  When you insert a 60/74/80-minute standard disc that contains no
audio data and no still images, the disc mode is set to the Hi-MD
mode.
MD When you insert a 60/74/80-minute standard disc that contains no
audio data and no still images, the disc mode is set to the MD mode. If
you want to use the disc recorded on this player on another component
that does not support Hi-MD, record the disc with “Disc Mode” set to
“MD.”
• The operation mode set in the “Disc Mode”
menu is applied to a blank 60/74/80-minute
standard disc used on the player even if a different
operation mode was selected in the SonicStage
software or a different operation mode appeared
on the display after the disc was formatted by the
SonicStage software.
