Task
Description
Step 2
Obtain configuration file and apply the
following settings to the LAN1 interface of
the IPNC systems on both Sites 1 and 2:
Site 1
• LAN1 IP address Site 1 =
192.168.42.1
• IP Mask = 255.255.255.0
• DHCP Mode = Disable
Site 2
• LAN1 IP address Site 2 = 192.168.
124.1
• IP Mask = 255.255.255.0
• DHCP Mode = Disable

Using the configured mask and IP address the IPNC is
able to derive the network address of the interface; it is not
necessary to add a routing entry in support of the
configured LAN1 or LAN2 network address.

See The System Configuration Menu on page 32.
Step 2
Add an IP route for the remote network on
both sites:
Site 1
• IP Address = 192.168.124.0
• IP Mask
= 255.255.255.0
• Gateway = 192.168.42.100
• Destination = LAN1
Site 2
• IP Address = 192.168.42.0
• IP Mask
= 255.255.255.0
• Gateway = 192.168.124.100
• Destination = LAN1

These routing entries will allow the IPNC to forward traffic
destined for the remote network to the local VPN router.

Step 2
Test IP connectivity

If the IPNC systems are configured correctly it will be
possible to PING INDeX 1 from Site 2 and INDeX 2 from
Site 1.
