Parameter Option Description
Selection Enables you to define a binary selection string for any
paper definition. Binary strings are used to invoke selected
printer features and can be entered in the current language
—HP Printer Control Language (HP PCL) or PostScript—
or in Printer Job Language (PJL).
Before The Before string sets special attributes for a tray. The
Before string is activated immediately before the Tray
Selection string.
After The After string restores the printer's normal default tray
selection. The After string is activated immediately before
the next IPDS tray selection, at host disconnection, or
when the IPDS job timeout limit is reached. You should
use an After string on each tray for which you use a
Before string. Ensure that the After string restores the
printer's normal default tray selection.
Paper Enables you to select the paper for this tray. The Paper list
contains the paper definitions from this page.
Language Enables you to select a language. If you define a
Selection String, Before string, or After string, you can
use either the current language or PJL.
Manual Feed Tray
Max Paper Size Enables you to select the maximum paper size for a
manual-feed tray.
Input Tray Offsets Enables you to define front, back, X, and Y offsets
Input Tray
Mappings Enables you to edit the list of mappings between IPDS
Tray IDs and the tray names defined for the physical
feeders or input trays in the printer. In other IPDS products,
this function is known by various names, such as Source
Mapping and Map Input Trays.
Input Tray The pull-down list is populated with the trays defined in the
Input Trays block on this configuration page.
IPDS Tray Number Displays a host input source (also known as the IPDS Tray
ID) and enables you to type an appropriate number. You
may need to consult the documentation for the IPDS
application or job. Any host input source can be mapped to
any physical printer input source. You can map more than
one IPDS tray number to a single input tray.
