3.2 Installer-based auto install
The installer automatically detects this machine on the same TCP/IP network as your computer or the printer
connected via USB to your computer, and allows you to install the fax driver together with the required printer
driver. You can also install the printer driver by manually specifying the printer for which you want to install
the driver.
3.2.1 Operating environment of the installer

- The installer supports installation in both IPv4/IPv6 environments of Windows Vista/Server 2008 only.
Note that it does not support "Secure Printing (IPPS)" in Windows Vista/Server 2008 and "Internet
Printing (IPP)" in the IPv6 environment.
- In Windows NT 4.0, to install the printer driver for this machine connected directly to the network using
TCP/IP protocol, you must have the Microsoft TCP/IP Printing service installed in your computer.
- To use the installer in Windows NT 4.0, you must have Internet Explorer 5.0 or later installed in your
computer.
3.2.2 Settings of this machine
Before you can use this machine through the network connection, you must configure the network settings
for this machine.
TCP/IP settings of this machine
In "TCP/IP Settings" of this machine, specify the IP address.

When this machine is connected through the network, you must previously specify the IP address on this
machine so that it can be detected automatically. For details, refer to "User's Guide [Network Administrator]".
