Precautions

This machine cannot transmit or receive color faxes.

The following types of telephone lines can be connected to this machine.
-

Local telephone lines (Including fax communication networks)

-

PBX (Private branch exchange two-line systems)

Be sure to check the following for the telephone line to be used.
-

A business phone is not connected as an external telephone on the line.

-

A call waiting service is not being used on the line.

-

If a digital line is multiplexed in a corporate network used by customers,
fax communications may be subject to the following limitations.

Limited transmission speeds

Fax communications via Super G3 are not possible

Although rare, communication errors may sometimes be caused by factory
default settings. This results from the multiplexing device placing extreme re-
strictions on the band used for the line on the assumption that it will be used
for voice transmissions.

In addition, these restrictions may vary depending on the devices that make
up the network. For details, contact your network administrator.
