Assign [AE LOCK], [AF LOCK] or [AF LOCK + AE LOCK] to

AEL AFL so that the function

concerned is enabled by pressing

AEL AFL in shooting mode.

Only the first frame is displayed for pictures that have been shot continuously.
Press

m in the playback mode to display continuously shot pictures in index view.

AEL AFL Locking the focus position and exposure

Locking the focus position and exposure (AF lock +
AE lock)

• Assign [AF LOCK + AE LOCK] to

AEL AFL. The metering

value is saved by pressing

AEL AFL and the focus and

exposure are locked. ^ (AF lock mark) and B (AE lock

mark) are displayed on the monitor. Press

AEL AFL again to

cancel the AF lock + AE lock. Each time you press the button,
the focus and exposure are locked and canceled alternately.

AUTO

Auto-flash

The flash fires automatically in low light or backlight
conditions.

Red-eye reduction
flash

This emits pre-flashes to reduce the occurrence of red-eye in
your pictures.

Fill-in flash

The flash fires regardless of the available light.

Red-eye fill-in flash

The flash always fires after pre-flashes for red-eye reduction
are emitted.

Flash off

The flash does not fire.

Slow
synchronization

The flash fires with slow shutter speed. The flash fires right
after the shutter fully opens (1st curtain). As the flash fires
with slow shutter speed, you can capture both the
background, such as a night view, and the subject.

While using slow synchronization (1st curtain) with flash
shooting, you can also use this function to achieve red-eye
reduction. Use this mode to take pictures of a person against
a night view.
