By setting [g FACE DETECT] to [ON], the camera will detect people’s faces in the frame
and adjust the focus and metering automatically.
• In order to use the
< button, [Fn FACE DETECT ] needs to be set up in the menu in
advance. g“; FUNCTION” (P. 97)
• After setting [g FACE DETECT] to [ON] while using the
< button, the following functions
are automatically set to the best settings for taking pictures of people.

If the camera detects a face, a frame will be
displayed in that location.
• When you press the shutter button, the camera will focus
on the position of the face detection frame (When M is
selected in [AF AREA] the camera will focus on that
position).

Notes
• During sequential shooting, face detection will work only
at the first shot.
• Depending on the subject, the camera may not be able
to correctly detect the face.
