Installation and User Manual

1. IMPORTANT

INSTRUCTIONS!

Kastor fireplaces are meant for heating rooms. They must not be used for any other purpose.

No decorative or other objects are to be placed on the fireplace and it must not be covered in any way while it is hot or being heated.

To ensure optimal power and safety, the feeding door must be closed during heating. The door may be left open during heating only, if the

fireplace is under constant supervision. The doors and glass surfaces must be treated with great care.

If the fireplace has been standing unused in a humid environment for a longish period (e.g. in an unheated summer cottage), it must be inspected

before use to make sure it does not have corrosion damage.

Prior to heating, check that the chimney flue is drawing enough air.

The fireplace gives off both conventional and radiation heat. It is a very efficient heat source. The mantle, sides and doors radiate heat and warm

up.

Be very careful! The handles, the feeding door's glass, the furnace surface and the circulating air may be very hot!

The fireplace's nameplate is located on the lower end of the back wall.
The feeding door is equipped with a spring, which pulls it shut.

In case of a chimney fire or any danger of one occurring, close the fireplace's doors and adjusters, but leave any damper plates in the chimney

flue open. Call the fire department, if you need help extinguishing it. After a chimney fire, the chimney flue must be inspected by the local chimney
sweeper.

Chimney fires, even extinguished ones, must always be reported to the fire department.

Do not let children light a fire or stay close to the lighted furnace without adult supervision.

1.1 SAFETY GLOVE

A separate safety glove accompanies every fireplace delivery to protect the user from burns.
You can use it to open and close the feeding door and adjust the air feed controls.
Keep the safety glove always close to the fireplace.

1.2. TRANSPORT AND MOVING

To ease transport and handling the fireplace is delivered with detached side panels. See instruction 2.1.
The fireplace's core can also be disassembled. Mantle and base are attached with screws.
To avoid damage during transport, the fireplace should be kept in a vertical position at all times.
Before use all decals and packaging must be removed. The nameplate must not be removed.

2. INSTALLATION

2.1. ATTACHMENT AND REMOVAL OF SIDE PANELS

Attachment of side panels:

- The panels toward the front and back are centred and attached in the same manner.

panel. (picture 2 and 3)

Lift the middle panel onto the pegs in the brackets and press them into place.

o

Place the brackets connecting the middle and upper panels into their holes and press them into the attachment link in the middle
panel. (Pictures 2 and 3)

o

Lift the upper panel onto the pegs in the brackets and press them into place.

o

Place the upper brackets into their holes and press them into the attachment link in the upper panel. (Picture 4)

o

Lower the fireplace's lid back into its place.

Removing the side panels:

- The panels are removed by following the instructions given above in reverse order.

2.1. 2 ATTACHING AND DETACHING THE MANTLE

The mantle is fixed with screws above, on the forward corners and below to the edges of the base. (Picture 5)

– Detach the screws in the upper forward corners.
– Detach the screws on the lower edge of the mantle. These are located on the sides and at the lower end of the back wall. Attachment is
performed in the opposite order.

2.1.3 ATTACHING AND DETACHING THE FURNACE

The furnace is attached by screws on the upper edge of the base. (Picture 6)

– Detach the screws and lift the furnace off the base.

2.1.4 ATTACHING THE FLUE CONNECTION

The fireplace comes with a connection part, which is attached either to the upper or the back wall exhaust. The exhaust that remains unattached is
covered with a lid, which is by default on the rear wall exhaust. For a rear wall exhaust, remove the hole knockouts on the back wall and take off the
lid with its seals, which are moved to the upper exhaust hole.

- Set the connection part and seal into the hole you have chosen (the shorter end goes into the hole) and attach it with M8 bolts to the core.
(Picture 8 and 10)
- Set the lid and seal onto the other, open exhaust opening. Attach with M8 bolts to the core.
- Set the covering plate in its place on the upper lid, if you are using the rear wall exhaust. (Picture 7 and 9)
