2.1.5 DETACHMENT/INSTALLATION OF FURNACE INSULATION AND FLAME REGULATOR

The furnace insulation plates can be replaced at need.
Detachment and installation of insulation:

- The flame regulation plate can be detached by lifting and turning it. (Detach for chimney sweeping). (Picture 11)
- The front and back plates of the side insulation can be detached by lifting them over the lower restrainers. (Picture 11)
- Once this is done, the rear insulation is loose.
- Installation:
- Lean the rear insulation against the rear wall.
- Set the rearmost side insulation upright behind the restrainers on the furnace floor.
- Insert the foremost side insulation in the same manner and push them against the rearmost side insulation.

Slide the flame regulator in a tilted position on top of the insulation plates and insert it into the grooves on the side insulation.

2.2 CHANGING THE HANDEDNESS OF THE TK-1/06 DOOR

The handedness of the feed door can be changed as follows:

- Lift the top off the fireplace.
- Detach the panel above the door. The bolts are between this panel and the core. Loosen the bolts and lift the panel away. (Picture 13 and
12)
- Take off the two bolts of the door's spring holder. (Picture 14)
- Remove the spring.
- Open the bolts of the upper hinge while holding on to the door to keep it from falling. (Picture 15)
- Lower the door to the floor/table.
- Open the bolts of the lower hinge. The bolts are on the furnace side of the hinge. Hold on to the lower door to keep it from falling. (Picture
16)
- Turn the lower door and set the hinge peg into the lower hinge hole on the other side.
- Set the door's hinge upside down onto the lower door's hinge peg and fasten it with bolts to the core. (Picture 16)
- Remove the locking holds from the core and fasten them in the equivalent holes on the other side. (Picture 17)

Changing the handedness of the door:

- Turn the door around.
- Open the handle's bolt and remove the handle. (Picture 18)
- Open the bolt of the upper axle and remove the locking tongue. (Picture 19)
- Remove the axle and turn it around.
- Set the axle on the door's other side.
- Install the locking tongues at the ends of the axle with the hook-formed part on the outside. (Picture 19)
- Push the handle's axle out through the lower hole.
- Place the handle's attachment axle in the locking tongue's link and the handle on the axle's other end. (Picture 18)
- Attach with bolt and washer.
- Place the upper axle in the upper hole and push the central axle against the locking tongue. Fasten with a bolt from the end of the axle.

- Tighten the bolts at the ends.

Installing the door:

- Place the door's lower hinge peg in the lower hinge hole.
- Place the upper hinge on the door's upper peg and attach the upper hinge to the core. (Picture 15)
- Place the spring in the holder's loop and in the door's upper hinge's loop. Pretension the spring as needed and attach with bolts to the core.

(Picture

- Check the door's straightness and adjust the hinges, if necessary.
- Check the locking pressure. Adjust at need.
- Place the upper panel in its bolts, check straightness and tighten.
- Lower the top into place.

2.2.1 CHANGING THE GLASS

The glass can be changed while the door remains in place.

- Detach the vertical slats and glass holders from above and below by opening the nuts. Tap the screws out of their holes. ( Picture 20 and

21). Carefully remove any glass shards. Remove the seals, if they are in bad condition.

- Tape new sealing strips in place of the old ones on the frame edges.
- Place the glass in the frame and centre it.
- Set the vertical slats into place and push the screws into their holes. Place the nuts and washers. Tighten lightly. Place the glass ears on the

upper and lower edges with their screws, Tighten the nuts carefully. (Picture 20 and 21)

- Tighten the nuts completely.
- Check that the door works correctly and the glass is tight.

An incorrectly installed glass can inhibit the burning process and cause defects in fireplace and glass.

2.3 CONNECTION TO THE FLUE CHANNEL FROM THE TOP
(Pictures 7 and 10)

The flue pipe connection can be made from the top (Picture 10), e.g. into a modular chimney. The connection hole has a diameter of 129 mm, into
which a chimney pipe is inserted that fits directly or through an adapter piece. With a bent pipe the fireplace can also be connected to a chimney not
directly above. (Kastor offers a large assortment of easily installed modular chimneys, which have been specifically designed for Kastor's wood
heated products.)

2.3.1 MASONRY FLUE

The fireplace must be connected to the flue channel with the accompanying connection pipe. Make a through hole in the chimney's masonry, which
is 20 mm wider than the outer diameter of the connection pipe. The aperture between pipe and masonry must be sealed with heat resistant mineral
wool – do not use plaster! (This ensures the necessary room for movement due to the heat expansion of the pipe during use)
Similarly, the connection pipe may also be attached to the top of the fireplace by using a 45 degree bent pipe. (Adhere to the required safety
distances. For uninsulated pipe it is 1000 mm to the nearest combustible material.)
