3.9.2 B Clamshell Housing Installation
c Assemble the shim pack ‘E’ (Fig.9.) into the bearing bore of the
shallow half of the clamshell.
c Position the seal housing in the same bearing bore so that the end
of the seal housing tube is in line with the bulkhead port position
(Refer to Figure 15.).

c Using a bearing press or arbor press, press the seal housing
assembly into the bottom of the bearing bore (i.e., until it stops
against the shim pack).
NOTE : Do not use excessive force when pressing as this may
damage the seal housing assembly.
HINT : You should not be able to rotate the shim pack
underneath the bearing cup if it has been pressed in
far enough.
