1 General information

The

in situ

Adapter for the Eppendorf Mastercycler

®

and the Eppendorf

Mastercycler

®

gradient enables

in situ

PCR reactions to be carried out on

a specially developed carrier system. This allows the Mastercycler

®

and

the Mastercycler

®

gradient to be used for the conventional PCR technique

in different tube systems as well as for the

in situ

technique.

The

in situ

Adapter is a high-temperature-conductive metal carrier, which

can accommodate up to four glass slides. To ensure optimum temperature
control of the samples, the entire carrier system also has a detachable
covering hood. This covering hood is transparent and double-walled,
which allows access to the sample at all times and also prevents heat
loss.

The adapter is extremely easy to handle: The carrier system is positioned
onto the thermoblock of the Mastercycler

®

or Mastercycler

®

gradient. The

samples are placed on up to four object carriers, fixed into place and
sealed hermetically prior to the PCR. Eppendorf

in situ

Frames form the

ideal sealing system for the

in situ

PCR and are available in different sizes

(volumes) (see "Ordering information"). The transparent covering hood is
then closed and the PCR may be started.

Thanks to the wide selection of different tube types, the software is
specially tailored to suit the

in situ

Adapter, which guarantees the high-

quality heat transition necessary for optimal results.

The

in situ

Adapter must be set up and used in accordance

with the operating manual provided in order to protect both the
user and the device. The instructions in the operating manual
of the Mastercycler

®

or Mastercycler

®

gradient must also be

observed.

When operating the device, please observe the instructions
contained in the corresponding applicational regulations!
