CERTIFIED CONTAINERS KIT

I. INTRODUCTION

The Certified Container Kit provides the LC and LC/MS user the ability
to get reliable results unlike generic or other brands of containers.
These LC containers are (empty) bottles in 250 mL and 1 L sizes. They
are uniquely processed and treated, much like the highly-regarded
Waters low TOC vials.

At <15 ppb TOC, the container is free from any potential organic
contaminants which could result in chromatography ghost peaks.

Just as important as the type and purity of the glass, in addition to
the solvents and mobile phases used, the cleanliness of containers
is paramount for increasing the accuracy of your analytical
measurement. Certified Containers provide Waters instrument users
reliable results unlike generic or other brands of media containers.
These are for Waters, by Waters.

The containers can be used on any Waters LC system, including, but
not limited to UPLC

®

, LC/UV and LC/MS. These ultra-clean bottles are

Type 1, Class A Borosilicate glass that conform to ASTM E-438 and
meet U.S. Pharmacopoeia specifications for Type 1 Borosilicate Glass.

The Certified Container Kit (p/n 186007088) contains 4 certified
1 L bottles, 3 certified 500 mL bottles with LC caps in standard sizes.
The Low Volume Kit (p/n 186007278) contains 5 certified 250 mL
clear bottles, 1 certified 500 mL clear bottle, and a clean container
cap kit. Each container is uniquely processed, treated, and sealed in a
Mylar bag to prevent particulate contamination during transportation
and storage post cleaning. Mylar was chosen for the bag material as
it does not release phthalates. Phthalates are commonly found in
plasticizers using in plastic bag manufacturing which can be released
during storage with detrimental effects on LC and LC/MS systems. Your
Certified Container Kit has come with a Certificate of Analysis (COA)
indicating it’s Total Organic Carbon (TOC) level when delivered to you.
