ALG (Application Level Gateway) Screen

Purpose: Enable or disable Application Level Gateway (ALG) configuration. Enabling allows
certain clients, such as PPTP, IPSec, or SIP, to communicate more reliably through a firewall
by adjusting certain parameters in the message headers.

IPSec (VPN)

Turn On (default) IPSec ALG if you use a IPSec client to dial into
your corporate network via the Internet.

PPTP (Point-to-Point
Tunneling Protocol)

Turn On (default) PPTP ALG if you use a PPTP client to dial into
your corporate network via the Internet.

SIP (Session Initiation
Protocol)

A signaling protocol for Internet Telephony. Turn On (default) SIP
ALG if you use VoIP telephone service over your Internet
connection.

Routing Screen

Purpose: Define static routes to specific destinations.

Active

Select the check box to enable the routing entry.

Destination IP

IP address/network to which the data is sent.

Gateway

Enter the gateway IP address through which this router can be
reached. The gateway IP should be reachable from your router.

Interface

Select the interface (WAN or LAN) for the routing entry.

Name

Enter a name for the routing entry.

Netmask

Enter a netmask for the Destination IP to define the destination
network.

FasTrack Plus QoS

Purpose: Configure FasTrack Plus QoS powered by WD FasTrack Plus QoS technology.
This technology improves your online gaming experience by ensuring that your entertainment
traffic is prioritized over other network traffic such as FTP or Web.

Enable FasTrack Plus
QoS

Enable or disable the QoS application to prioritize different client
applications/traffic types over the Internet.

Local IP Range

IP address range of the device(s) on your local network the rule
applies to.

Local Port Range

Port range of the application(s) on your local network the rule
applies to.

Name

Name given to the service/client for the classification entry.

Priority

When creating a rule, select the precedence in which the
application or device sends data over the network compared to
other applications or devices. The default value is 1-Highest.

Protocol

Internet protocol for transferring data. Select TCP or UDP.

Remote IP Range

Remote IP address range of the service on the Internet the rule
applies to.
