Meters equipped with the 12-cell, acid-delinted, hill-drop
cotton discs will plant 3 to 6 seeds per cell because of vari-
ations in cotton seed size.

Determine which hill spacing is desired and select the
transmission ratio that is closest to that hill spacing on
chart.

To determine the average seeds per hill and hills per acre
do the following field check:

1.

Measure 1/1000 of an acre. (1/1000 acre = length of
row 17’5” for 30” widths).

2.

Multiply the average seed per hill by hills per acre.

Example:

4 seeds per hill x (13 hills x 1000) = 52,000
