Main Box: Volumetric Rates
Volumetric meter chart rates are approximate. They are
determined by:
• Meter wheel selection,
• Crop and seed variant,
and with ground drive, by:
• Range sprockets, and;
• Transmission sprockets.
Hydraulic drive rate is set directly on the cab console.
Note: Great Plain strongly recommends calibration (see
next page) at the time of planting to assure achiev-
ing desired field rates.
Reading a Volumetric Rate Chart
Hydraulic or Ground Drive
1. Consult the chart for your crop and meter wheel.
2. Note any seed lubricant required. See “Seed Lubri-
cants” on page 55.
3. Find the columns for your row spacing.
4. Find the desired seed rate (which is pounds per acre
for volumetric seeds).
5. Note the maximum ground speed for that rate.
For hydraulic drive, set the rate on the console.
For ground drive ...
6. The Range sprockets are at the top of the columns
for the row spacing.
7. The Transmission sprockets are in the table rows,
found to the left of the Seed Rate.
