Refer to Figure 11
1.
Unbolt the ladder adaptor bracket (1) from both ends
of the drill. Discard the ladder, hinge hardware and
adaptor bracket.
2. Remove and discard the original end panels (2) from
the drill. Keep the bolts and nuts to use later.
3. Remove the existing walkboards and keep the hard-
ware for later use.
4. Modify existing drill walkboards (3) by cutting off and
discarding the unnotched ends. The reworked length
will be 86" on 15’ and 114 13/16” on 20’.
5. Remove and discard the walkboard support arms (4).
Keep U-bolts, opener spring adjustment tool and
walkboard clamp hardware.

6.
Install two new walkboard end panels (1) on the drill
reusing bolts removed in step 2 above and U-bolts
supplied in kit. Install the new ladders (2) supplied in
kit.
7. Assemble new walkboard support arms (3) to drill us-
ing hard ware removed in step 4 above. Refer to the
list below for placement of arms. Measure from the
center of the drill to the center of the support arm as
follows:

8.
Install walkboards with the notched end to the outside
of the drill using hardware removed in step 3 above.
NOTE: The distance between the walkboards (1) will be
3/4”.
9. Assemble opener spring adjustment (2) tool to the
underside of the walkboard reusing existing hardware
10. Place decals on walkboard end plates as indicated in
drawing. 838-265C Amber reflector (4), place inside
the ladder facing out. (Both sides of drill) 838-102C
falling hazard decal (5), place inside the ladder facing
out. (Both sides of drill)
11. Use pin clevis and pin hair cotter (3) to lock support
arm 1 and 4 in place.
