9. If changing seed wheels, install the [next] seed
wheel per the instructions on page 46.
10. Close the cleanout door. Re-install and secure the
retaining pin.
Meter Slide Maintenance
For proper seeding operation, seasonally or when
changing crops, check meter slide for wear. If you have a
noticeable increase in seeding rate you may need to
replace the meter slide.
1. If seed box is not empty, shut off Y-tube. See “Y-
Tubes” on page 33.
2. Clean out seed meter. See “Meter Maintenance” on
page 56.
3. Remove wheel. See “Meter Wheel Replacement”
on page 46.

The slide
is located at the front of the meter.
4. Check for excess wear on meter slide . Slight wear
at the top corner is normal.
5. If slide is not excessively worn, stop here. If it is, con-
tinue with step 6 to replace.
