Removing and Installing Parts

NOTICE:

To prevent static damage to components inside your computer, discharge static electricity

from your body before you touch any of your computer’s electronic components. You can do so by
touching an unpainted metal surface on the computer chassis.

1 Follow the procedures in "Before You Begin" on page 55.

2 Lay the computer on its side so that the system board is on the bottom of the inside of the

computer.

3 Remove the computer cover (see page 60).
4 Remove the drive panel (see page 82).
5 Remove the Media Card Reader from its packaging and ensure that all four screws are

included..

6 Gently slide the drive into place until you feel a click or feel the drive securely installed.

Ensure that the Media Card Reader is installed before the FlexBay cable is connected.

7 Connect the FlexBay USB cable to the back of the Media Card Reader and to the Media Card

Reader connector on the system board (see page 63).
