Removing the Hinge Cover

Follow the instructions in
Before You Begin
.

Remove the battery (see
Removing the Battery
).
3.
Remove the three screws in the battery bay and the M2.5x8-mm screw on the bottom of the computer.
4.
Turn the computer topside-up and open the display as far as it will open.
5.
Using a small scribe, insert the scribe on the left side of the hinge cover to gently pry the hinge cover loose.
6.
Pulling up from left to right, gently lift the hinge cover.
7.
Disconnect the cable and remove the hinge cover.

NOTICE:
To avoid electrostatic discharge, ground yourself by using a wrist grounding strap or by periodically touching an unpainted metal surface (such
as the back panel) on the computer.
NOTICE:
The hinge cover is fragile and can be damaged if extreme force is used. Be careful when removing the hinge cover.
