Drive Problems

If you cannot save a file to a floppy drive
U NL OC K TH E S CA NN ER — Ensure that your scanner is unlocked if it has a
locking tab or button.
R E INS T A LL TH E S CA N NE R DR IV E R — See the scanner documentation for
instructions.
E NS UR E T HA T W I ND O W S ® R EC O GN IZ E S T HE D RI VE — Click the Start
button and click My Computer. If the drive is not listed, perform a full scan with
your antivirus software to check for and remove viruses. Viruses can sometimes
prevent Windows from recognizing the drive. Insert a bootable disk and restart
the computer. Verify that the
light is blinking, indicating normal operation.
E NS UR E T HA T T HE D IS K IS N O T W R IT E - PR O TE C TE D — You cannot save
data to a write-protected disk. See the following figure.
