You must use the Dell™ PowerVault™ NAS Manager to manage your shadow copies. Using Cluster Administrator or cluster.exe to manage

shadow copies in a cluster is not supported.

See the Dell PowerVault 77xN NAS Systems Administrator Guide for more information on managing shadow copies using NAS Manager.

Enabling Shadow Copies on a Cluster Node

When you enable shadow copies on a cluster node (for example, by using the Configure Shadow Copy user interface through the Computer

Management Microsoft Management Console [MMC]), the operating system automatically generates and configures a Volume Shadow Copy

Service Task resource and a scheduled task for creating the shadow copy. You are not required to use Cluster Administrator or cluster.exe to

create the resource. Additionally, the Configure Shadow Copy user interface automatically configures the required resource dependencies.

Table 2-7

provides the default properties of the scheduled task and Volume Shadow Copy Service Task resource.
