Remove the rails from each side of the existing drive, and install them on each side of the new drive.

Slide the drive assembly into the drive bay.

Connect the power and interface cables to the back of the floppy drive.

Replace the front panel

Make sure that no cable connections were loosened during the procedure. Arrange cables so that they will not interfere with replacing the power

supply and computer cover.

Rotate the power supply

back into place.

Replace the computer cover

Plug your computer and devices into their electrical outlets, and turn them on.

5.25-Inch Drive

Shut down the computer

Turn off any attached devices and disconnect them from their electrical outlets.

3.

 

Disconnect the computer power cable from the wall outlet, and then press the power button to ground the system board.

Remove the computer cover

Remove the front panel

6.

 

Rotate the power supply

away from the system board.

7.

 

While holding the power supply, place the computer in the upright position.

8.

 

Disconnect the power and interface cables from the back of the drive.

9.

 

Press the two drive-release rail tabs, and slide the drive out of the drive bay.

 

10.

 

Before you install the new drive, install the drive-release rails on the sides of the replacement drive.

11.

 

Slide the drive assembly into the drive bay.

12.

 

Connect the power and interface cables to the back of the 5.25-inch drive.

Replace the front panel

To connect a network cable, first plug the cable in to the network wall jack and then plug it in to the computer.

CAUTION:

To guard against electrical shock, always unplug your computer from the electrical outlet before opening the cover.

NOTICE:

To disconnect a network cable, first unplug the cable from your computer and then unplug it from the network wall jack.
