Voice drive/Voice memo

Problem

Cause/Solution

Registering a vocai phrase or
recording a voice memo is not
possible.

The microphone is not connected properly.
—► Plug it in completely.

The unit often faiis or does not
succeed in recognizing the vocal
phrase.

• The microphone may not be able to receive the driver's voice

depending on the installation location and direction due to
the microphone's sharp directivity.
—► Install the microphone properly. Be sure to adjust the
SONY mark facing towards the driver's mouth.

• The unit incorporates outside noises as a part of the vocal

phrase.
—► Close the window while registering a vocal phrase.

• You can make it easier for the unit to recognise the vocal

phrase by pronouncing the phrase clearly and loudly.

• The phrase that you pronounced is different from the

registered one.
—► Pronounce the registered phrase.

Vocalized instructions are not

heard while the voice drive
function or the voice memo
function is engaged in another
operation.

The volume setting is at the lowest.
—► Adjust the volume with the dial of the unit.

DSP functions

Problem

Cause/Solution

No sound, or sound is too low. The volume of the speakers may have been automatically

lowered in order to maximize the effect of the listening
position adjustment.
—► Rotate the dial to adjust the balance.

The speaker balance can be set separately for DSP on mode
and DSP off mode (page 21).
