Inserting a cassette

You can use mini DV cassette with “"IV logo* only. ^
Make sure that the power source is installed.

(1) Slide A OPEN/EJECT in the direction of the arrow

and open the lid in the

direction of the arrow

The cassette compartment automatically lifts up and

opens.

Push the middle portion of the back of the tape to insert a cassette.

Insert the cassette in a straight line deeply into the cassette compartment with the
window facing out.

Close the cassette compartment by pressing the

mark on the cassette

conipartment. The cassette compartment automatically goes down.

After the cassette compartment going down completely, close the lid until it clicks.

To eject the cassette

Follow the procedure above and in step 2, take out the cassette.

Notes

• Do not put forcibly the cassette into the-cassette compartment. Doing so may damage

the camcorder.

• When you open the lid immediately after you install the battery, the cassette

compartment may not open. Close the lid and open it again.

• The cassette compartment may not be closed when you press any part of the lid other

than the

mark.

• Be careful not to get your fingers caught in the cassette lid.
• When you insert and eject a cassette, set the POWER switch to OFF to prevent

misoperation of the camcorder.

To prevent accidental erasure

Slide and open the tab on the cassette to expose the red mark. If you try to record with
the red mark exposed, the and

indicators flash on the LCD screen or in the

viewfinder, and you cannot record on the tape. To re-record on this tape, slide and
close the tab to cover the red mark.
