NOTICE:

Do not plug the transformer in until instructed.

1. The electrical components box is attached to the rear seat swing. Carefully cut the

plastic tie and remove the box. Remove the power transformer and the power cord
from the box and set aside.

Shiatsu Massage Recliner

Assembly Instructions:

– To reduce the risk of injury:

Do not operate the unit until the back is installed and locked.

Do not assemble unless you are able to lift at least 45 pounds without strain.

Be prepared for sudden shifting of weight as bottom of back is heavier than the top.

Do not allow children in area when you are assembling.

2. The upholstered back weighs approximately 45 pounds and is heavier toward the bottom.

If you are unable to safely lift and install the back, contact your La-Z-Boy

®

dealer

for assistance.

Lay the back on the arms and seat (F

1). Align the back and body brackets.

Roll the top back up and guide the back brackets onto the body brackets, making
sure the two connectors and the bottom of the back fall between the rear rail
and the rear seat.

Make sure that the upholstered back is flush with the tailgate to confirm that both

sets of brackets are completely engaged (F

2).

Lock the brackets by using a screwdriver to push down the locking levers (F

IGURE

3).

3. Gently roll the chair forward to rest on the front arms to access the connectors

under the chair.

4. The two larger connectors on the right side (sitting) are for the hand wand connection.

Align the arrows on the connectors and push the connectors together. Fasten the threaded
interlock cover over the connectors to secure the connection (F

5. Connect the smaller connector to the power transformer connector (F

IGURE

5).

– To reduce the risk of serious injury:

Do not allow electrical cord to be pinched between moving parts or between the

frame and the floor. Do not place cord under carpet or in location where it could
become worn.

WARNING

6. Move the cords away from the base and gently roll the chair back onto the base.

Make sure the cords are not pinched in moving parts or under the base.
