Basic play
Confirm that the disc is loaded. (See page 19.)

Press PLAY(>).
(The player is turned on and play begins automatically.)
H When a menu appears on the screen
in case of many movie DVDs, an interactive DVD or a Video CD with playback con
trol (see page 56), a menu appears on the screen.
Perform steps 2 and 3 to start play.
Tilt/press the joysiick/cursor buttons (A, T, ►) to select the pre
ferred item.
®The NUMBER button on the remote control is also effective for selecting the item.
When the item is selected using the NUMBER button, step 3 is not necessary.
•The joystick and cursor buttons are not effective for selecting items for Video CDs.
Select the item using the NUMBER button.
Press SELECT.
(Play of the selected item now begins.)

After operation
When the player is not in use, to save power, press and hold STOP (□) to set the player
to the standby mode. The player is automatically set to the standby mode after approx. 15
minutes have elapsed in the stop mode (Auto power-off function). (If the player is pow
ered by the battery pack, the power will automatically be turned off after approx. 5 minutes
have elapsed.)

be raised by displaying the GUI screen

“Dialogue Enhancer” to ON. (See page
27.)
[This setting takes effect only for discs
which are recorded with Dolby Digital
(AC-3) 5.1ch and with the dialogue
contained in the center channel.]
