Before enjoying DVD/Video CD/CD

The On-Screen menu language of your player has been factory preset to English.

DVD-L50Ä:

if you would like to change the menu language to French, German, Italian or

Spanish, please refer to “When ‘3 Menu Language' is selected” on page 37.

DVD^LSOPM:

If you would like to change the menu language to French or Spanish, please refer to

“When‘3 Menü Language’is selected” on page 37.

in the explanations given below it is assumed that English has been selected as the

menu language.

Note:

«The disc continues to rotate while the

menu is displayed even after the player

has finished playing a particular item.

When no further selections are to be

played, be sure to press STOP (□) to

clear the menu display.

For your reference:

•When the menu continues onto another

screen, pressing SKIP/SEARCH (!◄◄,

►N) or SKIP will show the next screen.

(The buttons may not work depending on

the disc used. For operation, refer also to

the jacket of the disc concerned.)

•To return to the menu screen, press

TITLE, MENU or RETURN (for DVD), or

RETURN (for Video CD). (The buttons

may not work depending on the disc
used.)

•When 0 appears on the screen while a

button is being operated, it means that

the corresponding operation is prohibited

by the player or the disc.

•Closing the outer cover or turning the

LCD display screen to OFF while playing

music CDs reduces power consumption.

These measures also conserve battery

power when operating off the battery
pack. (Under these conditions, the bat­

tery pack provides 4.5 hours of continu­
ous playback when playing music CDs.)

Entering the number

Press NUMBER to change to number

input mode, then press the button

corresponding to the desired number.

Example: Entering “6”

•To exit number input mode during

the input process:

Press NUMBER.

HOLD function

When the HOLD switch is slid toward
the “HOLD” direction, even when a
function button is inadvertently pressed
while the player is being carried, the

function corresponding to the button

will not be acknowledged. (It prevents

the

function

buttons

from

being

pressed during operation, so as not to

interrupt playback.)
