5.5. Remove the cotter pin securing the high / low
pivot link to the high / low actuator shaft.
Remove the pivot link.
NOTE: It is not necessary to remove the axles in
order to separate the transmission case hous-
ings.
5.6. Remove the axle seal.
5.7. Remove the retaining ring.
5.8. Remove the axle shaft and bearing.

5.9. Loosen the clamp securing the transmission
vent tube and remove the vent tube.
5.10. Remove the high / low shift lever detent screw,
spring and ball from the transmission housing
using a 5/32 allen wrench.
