5.45. The brake shaft can be lifted out of the transmis-

sion if the brake assembly is removed from the
other end of the shaft, and the transmission is
completely empty of oil.

6.

BRAKE ADJUSTMENT

6.1.

Raise the rear of the tractor and safely support it
with jack stands.

6.2.

Remove the rear tires.

6.3.

Disconnect the brake rods by removing the hair-
pin clips that connect the ferrules at the front of
each brake rod to the arms on the brake shaft
assembly.

6.4.

Insert a 0.010” feeler gauge between either
brake rotor and brake pad. Loosen or tighten the
adjustment nut on the brake caliper as neces-
sary using a 1/2” wrench.

NOTE: There are two brake rotors and three
brake pads on each side of the tractor.
