Preparing to Install
Kofax provides two methods for installing the SupplierExpress Agent:
▪ UNIX and Windows: An interactive installation procedure, which opens a graphical
interface and requires you to enter the information and follow on-screen instructions to
proceed.
▪ UNIX only: A silent-mode installation, which runs from the command line, using
properties files that you modify. Only use this procedure if your system does not support
the use of a graphical user interface for installations.
Both methods require the information that you recorded on the installation worksheet and
that you complete the following preparation.
If you are upgrading the SupplierExpress Agent software, stop the agent before continuing
(see
Starting and Stopping the Agent
).
1 On the UNIX or Windows server, create a <distribution_directory> in which to save and
extract the distribution files, for example, supplierexpress-installer-directory.
Note For UNIX, use the mkdir command to create the directory. You do not need to log
in as root, but can log in as any user.
2 Copy the install-image-saas-agent-<x.x>.zip file (where <x.x> is the version number) to
the directory.
3 From a command window, extract the file using the following command:
unzip install-image-saas-agent-<x.x>.zip
4 Verify the installed JDK as follows:
▪ On UNIX, enter the command java -version.
▪ On Windows, go to the Control Panel and open the Java control panel.
Note The MarkView application server requires Java JDK Version 1.6. See the
▪ If you have JDK 1.6.0_x installed, verify that $JAVA_HOME is directed to the JDK
1.6.0_x directory, and continue at the next step.
▪ If you do not have JDK 1.6.0_x installed:
a
Go to the java.sun.com website and download the software. Note the installation
directory on the MarkView Installation Worksheet.
b
Enter the following command to include the Java executable in the path:
export PATH=<jdk_installation_directory>/bin:$PATH
For example:
export PATH=/usr/java/jdk1.6.0_28/bin:$PATH
Note MarkView 6.x requires earlier versions of JDK to run. Do not remove the
earlier JDK versions or change the $JAVA_HOME setting if integrating with an
older version of MarkView.
