Overview

Introduction

Ascent Capture Add-ins for Kofax Business Interaction Server extends Ascent

Capture by enabling it to acknowledge customer documents as they are being

processed in Ascent Capture and Ascent Xtrata Pro.

There are two types of acknowledgements that you can send to customers:

confirmations and notifications. A confirmation lets a customer know that a document

has been received and is complete. Confirmations are sent automatically by the

Business Interaction Server release script when a document is released in Ascent

Capture.

A notification lets a customer know that a document is either invalid or that more

information is required to process it. If Ascent Capture or Ascent Xtrata Pro

determines that a document is blank or belongs to an unknown document class, an

automatic notification is sent asking the customer to resubmit the document. If Ascent

Xtrata Pro Validation module operators see that information is missing from a

document, they can send a manual notification asking the customer to resubmit the

document, including the missing information.

Confirmations and notifications are sent via email or fax, depending on which type of

contact information is provided on the customer document. If contact information is

missing, Ascent Capture or operators can retrieve it from Business Interaction Server

via a lookup in an existing database. The workflow for sending customer

confirmations and notifications is shown in Figure 1-1.
