Display Panel

REC Indicator (REC)

Lights up and replaces the time display when the VCR is recording.

Time, Channel Number, Line Input Indicator (LI or L2), Tape Speed Indicator, or Status

Indicator

Channel Number or Line Input Indicator

The channel number appears when the VCR is

tuned to a channel. The line indicator (LI or L2) appears when the VCR's line input is selected.
Select LI to record from the jacks on the back of the VCR or select L2 to record from the jacks on
the front of the VCR.

Status Indicators

Show what the VCR is doing.

EJEC

(Eject) Cassette ejected

FF

Fast forwarding

HI

VCR turned on and

BYE

VCR turned off

PLAY

In playback

REC

Recording and

RECP

For record-pause mode

REW

Rewinding

R0:00-R4:00

Express recording in progress (zero to four hours in half-hour increments)

SAFE

ProTect Plus feature turned on

SCH and SCH-

Forward or reverse search

In slow playback

Tape is stopped

Tape Inserted indicator

(GO) Appears on the front panel display any time a videocassette is

inserted into the VCR. This icon will flash if a timer recording has been set, power turned off on

the VCR, but no tape inserted.

Tape Speed Indicator (SP and SLP)

Press SPEED on the remote control to change.

Time

The current time appears. Only an AM indicator appears with the time. There is no

indicator for PM.

TIMER

Lights during express recording and when VCR is set for a timer recording and then

powered off.

VCR Indicator

(Applies only if the VCR Viewing Channel is 3 or 4). Press the TV*VCR button to turn

on or off.

• VCR indicator on: TV is viewing signals from the VCR.

• VCR indicator off: TV is viewing signals from an antenna, satellite or cable system.
