5) Gently rock the new drum unit
side to side five or six times.

Do not remove the starter
sheet.
Wait to unpack the Hmm unit
immediately before mstaUing it
into the MFC. If an unpacked
drumunitis subjected to excessive
direct sunlight or room hght, the
unit may be damaged.
Handle the toner cartridge and
the drum unit carefiilly because
it contains toner. If toner scatters
and your hands or clothes get
dirty, immediately wipe or wash
it off with cold water.
6) Reinstall the toner cartridge into the new drum unit. For more information, see
“Replacing the Toner Cartridge” on pages 158-161.
7) Holding the new drum unit by its
handles, install it. Close the top
cover.
8) The MFC automatically will eject
the starter sheet.
