Site Preparation Checklist
Planning the location and layout of your equipment rack or wiring closet is essential for successful
switch operation, ventilation, and accessibility.
Table D-1 lists the site planning tasks that we
recommend completing before installing the Cisco Nexus 5500 Platform switch or the Cisco Nexus 5000
Series switch.
Consider heat dissipation when sizing the air-conditioning requirements for an installation. See
Table B-5 on page B-2 for the environmental requirements, and the “Power Specifications” section on
page B-3 for power and heat ratings.
