Note: Uncheck Don't ask me again to be prompted to select a connection type each time you
connect the phone to a PC.
Location Settings
The Location menu allows you to select how your phone determines its location by using wireless
networks, GPS satellites, or both.
1. From the home screen, touch > Settings > Location.
2. Slide the location switch at the top right to turn location access on or off.
3. When location access is enabled, touch Mode to select location sources you want to use.

High accuracy: Get accurate location using GPS, Wi-Fi, and mobile networks.
l
Battery saving: Use only Wi-Fi and mobile networks to get your approximate location. This
will drain less power from your battery than using GPS.

Device only: Use GPS to pinpoint your location.

Accelerated location: Slide the switch to turn on/off the Qualcomm ® IZat™ hardware
accelerated location feature. Enabling this feature helps your phone determine its location
when you use location-based apps.
Security Settings
The Security settings allow you to increase the security of your phone with screen locks, encryption,
device administration and more.
Screen Lock
You can protect your phone by creating a screen lock. When enabled, you need to draw a pattern or
enter a numeric PIN or password to unlock the phone's screen.
To set a screen lock:
1. From the home screen, touch > Settings > Security > Screen lock.
2. Touch None, Long press, Pattern, PIN, or Password.

If you touch Pattern, you're guided to create a pattern you must draw to unlock the screen.

If you touch PIN or Password, you're prompted to set a numeric PIN or a password you
must enter to unlock your screen.
Important: Screen lock options are listed in the approximate order of their security strength,
starting with None and Long press, which provide no security.
Important: To protect your phone and data from unauthorized access, it is recommended that you
use the highest security level available (Password protection). It is also recommended you
frequently change your password to ensure the safety of your phone and personal data.
