The Novak 1S LiPo Booster Module steps up the 1S LiPo pack’s voltage to

provide the ESC/electronics with a full 6.0 volts and 3.0 amps, allowing nearly

any brushless or brushed ESC, receiver, or servo to operate on 1-cell LiPo.

Determine Mounting Position:

It is best to mount the module near the speed control, receiver,

and battery, as it connects to the receiver and its main power leads

(20G Red & Black silicone wires) will connect to ESC’s battery power

wire tabs (if ESC has solder tabs) or directly to the battery (Nitro

applications connect directly to battery pack). Based on where your

Booster module will be connected, select a position where the unit

can be mounted in the vehicle (Do not mount module at this time).

Power Lead Connection:

Cut the module’s 20G RED & BLACK silicone power wires to the

length required for where it will be mounted.

Strip & tin the wire

ends and solder to the ESC’s battery solder tabs--RED wire to

POSITIVE tab & BLACK wire to NEGATIVE tab.

When soldering wires to the tabs, make sure you do not short any

of the tabs to each other--your electronics will be damaged!

If connecting module’s power wires to the battery, battery connector, or

battery wires, insulate solder joints & exposed wiring to avoid short circuits.

For Nitro applications--Solder a connector to the module’s

RED & BLACK silicone power wires (RED wire to POSITIVE

& BLACK wire to NEGATIVE) that matches the connector on

your battery pack. This allows you to plug the 1S Booster module

into your vehicle’s receiver battery pack.

Receiver Harness Connection:

Connect the 1S LiPo Booster module’s receiver harness into the

receiver’s battery slot (or any open channel),

making sure the

positive & negative (black & red) wiring sequence matches the

other receiver connections. Very old radio systems may require

changing the wiring sequence in plug plastic.

Mount Module in Vehicle:

Use the included double-sided tape or tie-wraps to mount the 1S

LiPo Booster module in the vehicle.

1S LiPo Booster Operation:

The 1S LiPo Booster module requires no special set-up or

programming. Simply slide the module’s power switch to

the ON position, then turn the ESC’s power ON. The Booster

module supplies the electronics with the power required for normal

operation. When finished running the vehicle, turn the ESC’s

power OFF and then switch OFF the Booster module’s power.

For Nitro applications--Simply slide the module’s power switch

to ON position for operation. Disconnect battery when not in use.

Power Indicator LED:

The 1S LiPo Booster module has a blue LED on the circuit board

that indicates when the module’s power is turned ON.
