DECORATIVE EFFECTS
Decorative borders can be made with the
checker and domino stitches. The checker
stitch may be matched like the blind hem
and multiple stitch zigzag stitches. See
Page 36 and 39. This results in a
geometric
type
design.
The
domino
stitch may be used along the edge of the
border to complete the geometric effect.
These stitches may be sewn on ribbon and
then applied to table clothes, towels, or
curtains for a dynamic decorative effect.

CORDED DECORATIVE EFFECTS
The domino and checker stitches may be
corded for an even prettier and stronger
finished edge effect. Simply place four
strand of pearl cotton, embroidery floss,
or yarn under the presser foot. The
grooves of the embroidery foot will help
guide the cord evenly. Sew with either
the checker or domino stitch for a strong,
three color decorative effect. (Fig. 121)
