TWIN NEEDLE SEWING EFFECTS

To use a twin needle in the machine,
remove the single needle, and insert the
twin needle into clamp with the flat side

to the back. (Fig. 152) Threading of the

machine when using a twin needle is the

same as normal with these exceptions:

Place thread, matching or contrasting

in color, on each spool pin.

Hold both threads together as you

follow

through

thread

guides

as

normal, but separate the threads at
the tension. Pass on thread through

the left disc and one thread through
the right disc. (Fig. 153)

3. Then pass threads through arm thread

guide. (Fig. 154}

When using a twin needle, set the stitch
width dial at

2 or less to prevent needle

breakage with a wide stitch. Twin needle
settings are marked in white and red on
the stitch width dial — Do not use red
marked numbers when using twin needle.
Be sure to use the Middle Needle Position.
