Organization

This guide is organized into the following chapters:

Chapter 1, “Product Overview,”

summarizes the switch features, and describes

the ports, the standards they support, and the LEDs.

Chapter 2, “Installation,”

provides the procedures for installing a switch in a rack,

on a desk, or on a wall.

Chapter 3, “Troubleshooting,”

describes how to identify and resolve some of the

problems that might arise when you are installing the switch.

Appendix A, “Technical Specifications,”

lists the physical and environmental

specifications for the switches and the regulatory agency approvals.

Appendix B, “Connectors and Cable Specifications,”

describes the connectors,

cables, and adapters that can be used to connect to the switch.

Appendix C, “Translated Safety Warnings,”

provides translations in various

languages of the warnings in this guide.

Commands and keywords are in boldface.

Arguments for which you supply values are in italic.

Examples use these conventions:

Terminal sessions and system displays are in

screen

font.
