Engine—Follow engine manual for lubricat on in­
structions.

Throttle—Periodically lubricate throttle centre I lever
and throttle wire assembly with a few drops of light oil
for ease of operation.

MAINTENANCE

NOTE

When tipping the unit, empty the fuel
tank and keep engine spark plug side
up.

BATTERY PACK REPLACEMENT

Remove the battery pack from the panel for replace­
ment only. Do not separate the batteries for any ruason.

Dispose of batteries properly.

Do

not

short circuit or mutilate in any way.
Do not put batteries in fire. They

may burst or release toxic materials.

When replacing battery pack, battery pack must be

positioned with the positive terminal to the right hand

side and the negative terminal to the left hand side of

panel. See figure 26. Replacing the battery pack incor­
rectly will cause serious damage.

Connect the two sides of the battery pack using the
short wire lead. Connect the lead on the wire harness
to the positive side of the battery pack, then connect
the negative side.

IN-LINE FUSE

The unit is equipped with an in-line fuse. If unit fails
to start, check the fuse in the wiring harness by turn­
ing the end of the fuse holder and pulling apart. See

figure 27. Replace with a standard automotive

Remove the large bolt and lock washer which holds the
blade and adapter to the engine crankshaft. Remove

the blade and adapter from the crankshaft.

If the blade or blade adapter needs replacing, remove

the two small bolts, lock washers and nuts which hold
the blade to the adapter.

CAUTION

Periodically inspect the blade adapter

for cracks, especially if you strike a
foreign object. Replace when nec­
essary.
