RECORDING FROM A COMPACT
DISC
Recording is done on the side facing the cassette hoider.
Use type I (normai) tapes.
1 Insert a cassette.

2 Set the FUNCTION switch to CD.
For CSD-ES770, make sure that the <l light of the OPE/BATT/DIR
indicator is on. If it is not on, press the DIR button to turn it on.
3 Place a disc with the iabel facing up.
4 Press the # REC button to start recording.
The PLAY button is depressed automaticaliy.
The REVERSE MODE button is also depressed (CSD-ES770
only).
5 Press the ►!! PLAY/PAUSE button to start CD piay.
Basic operation
Press the following buttons.
To stop M/^ STOP/EJECT button of the deck
■ STOP/MEMORY button of the CD player
To pause
II
PAUSE button

After recording
Set the FUNCTION switch to POWER 6 STANDBY/TAPE.
Recording programmed tracks
1 Follow steps 1 to 6 on page 14.
2 Insert a cassette.
3 Press the # REC button.
4 Press the ►!! PLAY/PAUSE button on the CD player.

When the end of the tape is reached

The 9 REC button is released and recording stops. But the
PLAY button is not released and the tape reverses. Press the 9/^
STOP/EJECT button to stop the tape.
To record on the other side, turn the cassette over.
CSD-ES570/ES370
Recording stops and the buttons are released.
To record on the other side, turn the cassette over.
Usable tapes
Use type I (normal) tapes. If you use type IV (metal) or type II (high/

02) tapes, sound that has been already recorded may not be erased
completely.
NOTE
■ You cannot change the setting of the FUNCTION switch during
recording.
' If the erasure prevention tab on a cassette is broken off, the

button cannot be depressed.
Adjusting the output volume and sound does not affect the recorded
sound.
When recording near a television, noise may be recorded. Move the
unit further away from the television.
