RECORDING FROM THE RADIO
Recording is done on the side facing the cassette holder.
Use type I (normal) tapes.
1 Insert a cassette.

2 Set the FUNCTION switch to RADIO.
For CSD-ES770, make sure that the < light of the OPE/BATT/DIR
Indicator is on. if it is not on, press the DIR button to turn it on.
3 Set the BAND switch to select a band.
4 Turn the TUNING control to tune in to a station.
5 Press the # REC button to start recording.
The PLAY button is depressed automatically.
The REVERSE MODE button is also depressed (CSD-ES770
only).
Basic operation
Press the following buttons.
To stop
M± STOP/EJECT
To pause
II
PAUSE button
Press again to resume recording.
After recording
Set the FUNCTION switch to POWER (!) STANDBY/TAPE.
If a high-pitched sound is heard during recording from AM
Press the FM MODE/OSC button to select the position that gives the
less noise.
Each time you press the button, the display changes as illustrated.
To erase the recording
1 Set the FUNCTION switch to POWER d) STANDBY/TAPE.
2 Insert a cassette with the side to be erased facing the cassette
holder.
3 Press the • REC button to start erasing.
